Disneyland! 12/7

Yesterday was a 'down' day for us. We took a long walk to Downtown Disney mid-morning.

Our first stop was a tour through the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel. They have this nice display set up for people to get their pictures taken with Santa. He was out for a while so we decided to take advantage of a nice photo-op! 

Next stop? The Lego Store!

This was seriously SWEET!

I caught Rob trying to douse the girls with fountain water.

Then we stopped for lunch at Jamba Juice and toured a few more shops. Downtown Disney is so much fun, and it's a perfect way to start the trip with some holiday Disney magic if you get there a day or two before you actually get to get into the park.

After lunch we stopped by the front gate. The kids stuck their noses inside the gate to 'smell the Disneyland air'!

Rob posing beneath his favorite gate: Gate 13. No, 13 is not his lucky number. Gate 13 is the gate that The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2010 book told him to line up at. Who are we to argue with the book? Gate 13 is our gate!

Then we took some pictures in front of California Adventures.

I love that the letters are 'dressed up' like candy canes this time of year!

After trouncing through Downtown Disney we headed over to Long Beach for dinner with Rob's Great Uncle Spencer. This was the view we saw from our table! Not bad, eh?

The gang with Uncle Spencer! I'm so glad we got to see him again this time around. He's a lot of fun! We plan to see him again on Saturday too.

And this is the kiddos with Uncle Spencer's friend, Steve and dog Casey.

After dinner we headed out to Signal Hill to see the beautiful city lights. Then we headed back to the hotel and all of the kids were out within minutes! Rob went grocery shopping so we could eat breakfast at our hotel, and pack our snacks and lunches into the park with us.  

We were both out before too long as well. It's amazing how tuckered out we got on our 'down day'!
