A New Name

I've thought for quite some time now about changing my name. It might seem silly to some of you, but the whole "Rob and Robyn" thing is just too cute (and too confusing) sometimes. Besides, I'd kind of like to do something wild and crazy like change my name. So, I am currently open to ideas about what my new name should be. I don't really have any requirements for my new name other than maybe something a little more feminine (couldn't be a boy's name).

Any suggestions? Leave a comment by clicking on the comment button below this post.

My middle name is Elizabeth, so any variation thereof is always a bonus, but not necessary.

p.s. I'm not going to change my name tomorrow, but probably at some point... so I'm just taking suggestions, don't go all crazy on me for changing my name just yet.

Oh my gosh... are you kidding me? Wow, what a concept! How about Shanaynay? :)

I do think the name Beth would fit you well. Otherwise, I'll have to get back to you! That's a difficult question.

I've always liked the fact that you two are Rob & Robyn, kinda like our family friends Dick & Dixie. It's rad that God brings people together with such "compatible" names.

Even though I don't know Becca, I totally have to say the same thing, are you kidding me??? I never knew that you didn't like the Rob and Robyn thing...I love your name, it suits you so well, or maybe it's just because that's what I know you as...I'll keep thinking, but for now...I still love my Robyn Elizabeth!

What's wrong with 'Punpkin'?

Yes, the Rob and Robyn thing is cute... but most people can't resist putting a "tweet, tweet" at the end, which is endearing, but kind of obnoxious. And if you try to shorten my name, it becomes Rob (which was fine when I was a kid, but now we don't know which one of us should respond!)

And, of course "Pookie", I kinda like Punkin, but that's just between you and I. It wouldn't be as special if everyone else called me that too!

Uncle Ken and I have lived as Barbie and Ken for 35 years and it hasn't been bad - of course Stacey always wanted to make sure that people knew she wasn't Skipper!! Most people don't forget our names! I love Rob and Robyn, it would be hard to call you by another name, in our minds you'd always be Robyn!! Would it solve anything if we went back to calling your husband Robbie like we used to when he was little???

One more thought.......if you changed your name you wouldn't be able to call this blog Robyn's Nest!

Ok two more thoughts...Phillipians 4:11 (you have to look this on up). Three thoughts....someone loved you enough to give you a very special name. I'm on a roll let's go for four.... besides, you already have a new name, it's waiting for you in heaven Revelation 2:17!

I think Raja or Tahirah, the last one is my favorite... or you could do something really American, like Mary... :)

I already told her I refuse to call her anything but Robyn. I guess I could do Liz. If Aunt Barb can handle the Barbie and Ken, you can put up with Rob & Robyn (tweet, tweet). Love you!

Hey- how about Ro? You've already got a couple people calling you that. Or would people start singing row, row, row your boat all the time? See, you can never win with any name!

I like your thinking Suzy-Q!

I would stick with Robyn for reasons already mentioned - but if you must I would go with Timothyette, 'cept maybe that is boys name.....

My first comment didn't make the list. I must have goofed somehow. BUT, to reiterate it, I think your Aunt Barb is right on. Besides, in my book you'll always be Robyn. I think that the Rob and Robyn thing has just made it all the more easy for the old folks like me. Not that you care, but you're the ONLY Robyn with a "y" that I know and love.
